byeusa.io is a migration orchestrator that helps you move from US-based services to European alternatives. We take privacy seriously—it's the reason this product exists. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

Information We Collect

Waitlist Data

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

  • Email address: To notify you when the service is ready
  • IP address: For rate limiting and spam prevention
  • Timestamp: When you joined the waitlist

Account Data (When Service Launches)

When you create an account, we'll collect:

  • OAuth tokens: To access your Google account data for migration purposes
  • Service inventory: List of services detected in your email and usage patterns
  • Migration preferences: Your chosen target services (Proton, Fastmail, etc.)
  • Progress data: Current migration phase and completed tasks

Temporary Migration Data

During active migrations:

  • Email content: Temporarily processed for migration (not stored long-term)
  • Service detection data: Extracted from emails to build your service inventory
  • Job logs: Technical logs of migration operations for troubleshooting

How We Use Your Data

Primary Purposes

  • Execute migrations: Transfer your data from US services to European alternatives
  • Build service inventory: Detect which services you use to provide personalized checklists
  • Track progress: Show you where you are in the 90-day migration timeline
  • Send notifications: Email you about important migration milestones

We Do NOT

  • Sell or share your data with third parties
  • Use your data for advertising or marketing beyond service updates
  • Train AI models on your personal data
  • Store your email content after migration completes
  • Access your data without your explicit consent

Data Storage and Security

Where We Store Data

  • Database: Cloudflare D1 (SQLite) - stored in EU regions when possible
  • Temporary files: Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible) - EU regions when possible
  • Application: Cloudflare Workers - runs on edge locations globally

Security Measures

  • OAuth tokens encrypted at rest
  • TLS/HTTPS for all data in transit
  • Rate limiting and abuse prevention
  • Regular security audits (when service launches)

Data Retention

  • Waitlist data: Until service launch, then deleted or converted to accounts
  • Account data: Until you delete your account
  • Migration data: Temporary files deleted after 7 days
  • Job logs: Retained for 30 days for troubleshooting

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
  • Portability: Export your data in machine-readable format
  • Revoke consent: Disconnect OAuth access at any time
  • Object: Object to specific data processing activities

Third-Party Services

Services We Use

  • Cloudflare: Hosting, database, and edge computing
  • Resend: Transactional emails (EU region when possible)
  • Google OAuth: To access your Google account for migration

Services We Connect To

We facilitate connections to target services (Proton, Fastmail, etc.) but only with your explicit consent. Each service has its own privacy policy which you should review.

Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal tracking:

  • Session cookies: To keep you logged in (essential, cannot be disabled)
  • No analytics cookies: We don't use Google Analytics or similar tracking
  • No advertising cookies: We don't serve ads or use ad networks

International Transfers

byeusa.io operates globally via Cloudflare's edge network. While we prefer EU regions for data storage, some processing may occur in other regions for performance. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.

Children's Privacy

byeusa.io is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
